What Employment For Seniors Offers For Our Central Ohio Employer Partners

Local employers around Central Oho have found a highly skilled workforce by posting their positions, free of charge, on the Employment For Seniors JobMatch system.  With assistance from the EFS staff, employers are guided through job postings and initial applicant screening. 

  • Executive Direcor Carol Ventresca talks with Barb Stoltz. Employer Outreach Associate with EFS about the reasons hundreds of employers work with EFS every year to find qualified candidates for positions they need to fill.



Our goal is to help employers – all sizes, small/medium/large – who are in need of great job applicants.  We particularly strive to assist those smaller employers who do not have full recruiting offices, and those in need of technical help on the recruiting/hiring process.

We provide free job postings for employers – no limits on number posted.  We posted 1,300 jobs in 2016 from approximately 300 employers, with 600+ in our database.
  • Free assistance in developing position descriptions
  • Free access to thousands of skilled applicants
  • Free preliminary screening of applicants
We send out monthly emails to clients, encouraging them to review the list, highlight positions, and “stimulate” interest in the jobs.
  • The counseling team works with clients daily and also provide information on various positions
  • We provide publicity for employer hiring events on the EFS website!
  • Opportunities for on-site hiring events right at the EFS office
  • Room for interviewing in 3-4 office areas, a recruiting table in our spacious lobby, and a computer lab for clients to fill out on-line applications!
  • We provide publicity for the event
  • Help register visitors 
  • And we are completing purchase of audio and video equipment, so that our conference room can be used as a “pre-event” area – an employer can show a video, powerpoint, or just talk to clients.
  • Our greatest program is the Senior Career Expo!  This year we are hosting the 23rd Senior Career Expo that includes not only hiring employers but a full range of career workshops for participants.

As 2016 ends, Ohio could end the year with the fewest new unemployment-claim filings. A record since 1971! According to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services , claims for benefits filed so far this year is tracking 4.1% below 2015. And claims have been moving lower since the end of the recession in Ohio, as well as nationally. Much of the drop in claims is due to an improving economy, and the demand for workers remains strong.
